WFU undergraduates with science majors sometimes complain that generic job fairs don’t offer opportunities that match their specialized skill sets. This perceived mismatch is being directly addressed by the OPCD with an exciting new event. The first ever WFU STEM SLAM will be held at 6 PM on February 24, 2015, in the Broyhill Auditorium of Farrell Hall. Interested students should register in advance on DeaconSource and plan to attend a prep session on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at 5:30 PM in the OPCD Center. A SLAM provides an opportunity for informal networking with many potential science-technology-engineering-math employers in a single location. (And note that healthcare-related careers fall squarely within the definition of STEM!).
