Science students at Wake Forest University were enthusiastic participants in the first in a series of workshops titled How to Prevent a Panic Attack on Your First College Science Exam held Tuesday, September 8, in Winston 126. Professor Pat Lord of the Department of Biology served as an organizer, working alongside colleagues from the Chemistry Center and the Learning Assistance Center. At the end of the session students were asked to write their fears on a piece of notebook paper and then leave them in the Beaker-O-Fear. You can see the results of this exercise displayed as a Wordle diagram in an article from the Wake Forest News Center titled Tamping Down Test Anxiety (http://news.wfu.edu/2015/09/11/tamping-down-test-anxiety/).
